My reaction was more that I was absolutely horrified... certainly not laughter... well perhaps hysterical laughter...

I hope you don't mind, T&C, but as a professional railwayman I couldn't believe how poorly run and near to a disaster it was...

If that had happenned on any decently run railway they would have put dettonators on the track about a mile either side of the crash and any approaching loco would have had to come in VERY slowly, also all non-railway people would have been kept well away from the track...

Quite frankly if thats the way they run their railways after a crash then I would suggest that you avoid them at all costs... unles you have a death wish...

Probably 30/40mph... certainly too fast if they knew they were approaching the crash scene.

You can all the most modern equipment in the world... but if people don't follow correct procedures...

You answered your own question, by putting 'almost' instead of just leaving a *blank* in the sentence. I thought it was quite funny, but then I still retain a sense of humour.............

edited.

it being funny does depend on a few things
1. your sense of humour at what sort of things you find funny (I don't mean that in any offensive way at all
2. whether you have been affected by something similar in your life which was serious

different people see it in different ways

Reading some of the earlier comments on the video, the driver of the crane jumped out 1Km before, when the brakes failed to respond due to greasy track, and due to the fact it was going down hill!!!!
It Becomes more obvious that the main reason for both accidents is a liquid sprinkled on railroad tracks, which is commonly used against the weed so it would not catch fire when braking. Railroad workers claim that it should take 4 hours for liquid to dry but eyewitnesses claim that the railroad was greasy even the day after. The theory is confirmed by the train operator that was sent to pick up passengers after the accident, and it began to slide backwards in the proximity of accident site.
Liquid was most likely sprayed by the same vehicle crashing in this video, as you can see that tank it was carrying was damaged in the crash.

Why was the track / rails oily ? leaves on the line, oil leaking rolling stock ?
Oops just noticed one of the above posts about the weed killer, , must've been really concetrated stuff, i use "round up" for the weeds in our garden, its not oily though :? ...

it looked a lot like a damaged rail as just as it came through that small cutting part it just came off. If it was speed that caused it, it would of toppled onto that worker person
