3.5" Gauge Commission Re-Spray

Post by pro-models »

This is the finished commission job that I have been on with for several weeks, the loco and tender were taken down to almmost bare metal then primed and sprayed using aerosols satin black, then it had several gloss coats, sanded in between coats, the decals were from Fox Transfers and were over £90 for what you see on the loco. I then teak cut the whole loco and tender then put several coats of wax onto her to give her the lovely shine you see, the customer requested a high gloss finish, personally I would have had it satin black. Please excuse the poor photography but it would not fir into my set up

Very nice. But about the wax, won't that be a problem when it is steamed?

Yes , generally you shouldn't wax any live steam loco because of the heat, but it can be ok, just not recomended
