Bachmann 2016 range announcement

Postby Bigmet » Wed Mar 02, 2016 9:55 am

Well that passed by unremarked on here!
http://www.bachmann.co.uk/details.php?id=391
Little more than a status update on all the many items that are glacially advancing toward going on sale. Hopefully Kader's 'extra resources' that are mentioned as being put on the case represents more than just words; if all the present 'in development list' are shown 'in the toolroom' by year end, with appropriate movement throught the following stages to match I'll believe it. My particular marker is the new tooled Thompson coaches. Shown at 'Artwork', which would have meant available - barring some major problem - well before year end at the pace they once made. Let's see...

Some interesting items in the list. Does anyone know when the 2016/17 catalogue will be available?
Thanks

its nuts that you need to go to 3rd party sites to find out about Bachmanns products as they dont have it on their site!

the idea of pre fitted passengers in coaches is nice will be interesting to see how they look

So, this explains why Bachmann were giving away free copies of the current catalogue at Glasgow on Friday last week!

Wake me up in another year!

Only thing of note personally is a long awaited Class 101 in the white w'blue stripe "refurbished".
Been after one since I saw a real set parked at Cambridge in the 80s (they worked to Hitchin)

There is a long list of new models from previous announcements yet to appear
Class 117 DMU
Class 121 Railcar
94xx Pannier Tank
J39 Class 0-6-0 (DCC chassis upgrade)
J72 Class 0-6-0T (DCC chassis upgrade)
Parallel boiler Royal Scot Class 4-6-0 (DCC chassis upgrade)
V2 Class 2-6-2 (new body tooling)
Ransomes & Rapier 45T Steam Crane
Class B Bitumen TTA Tank

Making some advancement at the "design stage" are
Baldwin 10-12-D (OO9)
3-plank Bogie Open (OO9)
Ambulance Van (OO9)
LB&SCR H2 Class 4-4-2
Class 24/1
Class 90
Class 158 (all new tooling)
FFA / FGA Freightliner Flats
TPO Stowage Van (POT)
WD Warflat
SE&CR Birdcage Coaches

Tooling has started on
Webb Coal Tank
Mk 2F Coaches (including DBSO)
Class 450
Class 70/8

Decoration is being worked on the
Thompson Coaches
LMS Stanier Mogul 2-6-0
Intermodals with Tank Containers
which means they are not far off production

Now being produced, or ready for production are
Wickham Trolley (Type 27)
USA 0-6-0T (exclusively for Model Rail)
Ivatt 2MT 2-6-2T (DCC chassis upgrade)
V1/V3 2-6-2T (DCC chassis upgrade)
20T Tank Wagon

The newly announced class 414 ought to be relatively quick into production as apart from needing a new interior moulding they already have the tools as its a combination of their existing SR EMU and a 205 vehicle which they have produced for Kernow.

Like I said, credit card safe, apart from the POT (and only if it is in the correct livery) there is nothing I am interested in
