Is this bachmann BR Standard tank 2-6-4 rare ?

Is it still available or is it not as there are not many results on the internet is it a rare model with only so many made or something.

every other thing on fleabay is 'rare'. rare means they are stuck with it and really want to sell it, it gets people looking at the add. the only rare thing i'm looking at buying is beef, with roasties, yourkshire pud, brussels and a swipe of horse radish.

No, but it only appeared in this livery, preserved on the NYMR.

In BR service they were lined black as per other mixed-traffic locos - so unless you are modelling the NYMR - it has limited use....!

The 4mt looks very pleasing in BR Green! They should release more! lol

Agreed - the last time I saw it (@20 years ago) it was running in this livery minus lining - which was not quite as attractive and gave the loco a tough utilitarian look...

It is in restoration at the moment on the NYMR does anyone have any pictures of this loco in BR days ?
