Help with changing couplings needed!

Postby PhilboBaggins » Fri Oct 02, 2015 12:04 am

Hi, was wondering if anyone could help with info regarding compatibility of Kato's 'N' Guage "Knuckle" couplings (as fitted to the K11-103 0-4-0 chassis) and the Peco 009 coupling. Is any modification required? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sorry to report, No compatibility. Don't know about the mountings though, or how easy it would be to change couplers on the vehicles concerned.

Which Peco N couplings? There are two, the old ones which come as a kits of parts (and are rubbish!) and the new ones which are designed to fit in the NEM 355 box.

I've a feeling that the latter will fit the Kato chassis.

Just done a check on the main narrow gauge modelling forum, NGRM-Online and the answer is Yes, the new Peco NEM compatible ones will fit straight in, though you cannot use the hook so that needs to be removed before fitting.
