ABC on DCC chips.
ABC on DCC chips.
Does anyone know from the plethora of manufacturers DCC chips on sale in the UK, which ones dont have the automatic brake function?
Re: ABC on DCC chips.
Probably easier to list those that do support ABC:-
- Lenz
- Zimo
- ESU
Some older decoders (especially ESU) will not support ABC so make sure you check the decoder spec before you buy. Brake on DC is much more widely supported, but tends to be harder to implement, so it is well worth sticking to ABC compatible decoders. Implementation is a bit different between makes, so it is best to just stick with one make of decoder if possible to make life easier

Cool. Thanks for that. I thought more decoder providers would have got with the programme by now and have this feature.Suzie wrote:Probably easier to list those that do support ABC:-

Hornby Sapphire does?
Re: ABC on DCC chips.
Is the Hornby R8245 Sapphire still produced? It isn't showing on the Hornby web site anymore!
Some are still being sold by retailers, but I suspect these may be old stock? New Modellers shop has just one available.

There only ever was one batch produced so if you find them in store they will be dusty.Flashbang wrote:Is the Hornby R8245 Sapphire still produced? It isn't showing on the Hornby web site anymore!
