Going wireless with Prodigy Advance2

Post by merv71 »

I would like to eventually go wireless. I'm in my late seventies and my feet seem to be attracted to those handset cables!
I have the Prodigy Advance2 though it is quite old now...It may be 7 or 8 years old.
The price looks horrific to convert to wireless (£285) but I need to do it sooner or later. Gaugemaster information online about the Prodigy Wireless Conversion Set suggests that the wired receiver just plugs into the base unit and away you go. Is it as simple as that? Would all locos need to be reset and does the base unit need to be updated in any way?

Seems like a better option unless you're wedded to using the standard hand held controller. The Phone application doesnt do everything.

The phone application used is actually the standard JMRI Engine Driver application.

If you have a spare laptop or PC lying around, and don't mind getting a little more technical, you could just
