DCC concepts cobalt ADS-8sx wiring

Postby Michaelaface » Tue Apr 10, 2018 6:11 pm

yo forum, just wondering if anyone on here has any experience using DCC concepts' cobalt ADS-8sx?

I've recently, and although I can get it to work, I have had some odd problems with it, sometimes it short's out the system when first turned on but then is fine, sometimes it gets quite warm, not entirely sure why, considering I can get it to work with no issue, I'm assuming the unit itself is actually fine and I'm just doing something wrong

The AD-S2sx unit has a CDU for each output. These probably draw a lot of current when DCC power is first applied and the capacitors charge up.
The heat issue is anyone's guess; some circuits just get hot but it could also be a faulty component. I suggest contacting DCC concepts and describing the issues. They are quite friendly and they may have some suggestions.
Regards
Rob
