Zimo MX600 CV8-8

Postby swiftbeam » Wed Jan 24, 2018 11:54 am

Hi Guys,

I've done a bit of hunting and Googling, but can't find anything 'hard and fast'.

If I set a Zimo MX600 CV8-8, this will do no harm to the decoder and will simply put the settings back to where they were when I took delivery of the decoder from new?

I'm asking as I need to give one of my MX600 decoders to a club mate, but want to make sure all the settings I have put in are gone and he gets a 'fresh' decoder.

Thanks.

Setting CV8=8 simply returns all CVs to the factory values. It's more or less standard for all decoder makes.

The Zimo CV list is VERY hard to understand and REALLY should be rewritten in proper English so the UK market can fully understand it.
This is why I wanted to double check here before I did something silly.
As I understand it, Digitrains are the sole importer of Zimo, so maybe they could spend half an hour to write them out again and put that info on their website?

Paul Chetter (pauliebanger) has written some very useful stuff on forums and in the Hornby magazines regarding Zimo decoders.

I haven't yet downloaded the MX600 manual to go with the decoders I now have, the last one I downloaded was for the MX64. Give me a week or two to have a look ...
