Complete Wiring newbie

Postby Benpob » Sun Dec 08, 2013 5:40 pm

Hi everyone, Im new to the forum and thought it would be a great place to ask advice.

I have this layout and am wanting to convert it to dcc. My understanding so far is that I would need to connect up each section, but im unsure about insulating any joints etc. any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
No problem converting that plan to DCC
Simply connect all rail feed wires together to make one pair of wires, ensuring the same handed rails wire on loop one is jointed to the same handed rail/wire on loop two. Connect the two wires to the DCC consoles track output. Turn on any isolating switches. If the points are insulated frog type adding two Hornby digital point clips per point will overcome the self isolating feature of these points.

Broken? It was working correctly when I left it.

With DCC the track is live and you control each train independently.
Therefore connect all track to a bus wire which is then connected to controller.
What Flashbang has said.
Just another thing I notice maybe another set of points so you could run straight onto
outer track without reversing.
