The owner had a reply from Bachmann which asked for the A & D cars to be swapped over to try and establish if it was a faulty pcb. Here's the table. Fingers crossed.

Case closed :D I had one more (that's about 500) final check. I took the C (power car) apart and checked for continuity from the pcb, which I'd replaced back in about 2013/4, thanks to Bachmann for sending a replacement, to the powered coupling pockets and found that a solder joint which I'd repaired a few years back had failed again :oops: I re repaired it and away it went with all lights working correctly. It was a fiddly job and would have been much easier if a replacement part had been available, but at least we know where to look if the same problem crops up.
