Hi there,
I have a loco that needs a 8-pin blanking plate to convert back to DC. It's Hornby but I don't think that makes a difference.
Does anyone have any spare that they don't need please? I will pay postage, etc.
Cheers!
Tom

Write down the problem: I need to connect two pairs of sockets to each other.
Think: wire will do the job
Solution: two small staples formed from wire to bridge the pairs of sockets at each end of the array.

Ha ha
I did try that prior to posting, however, the DC controller I am using detects a shorts and cuts the power.
Is it just one link wire you need to go from one pin to the other? When I look at the soldering under the socket for the DCC chip it has two solder joints with wires going into each so this is where I added the link wire.
Thanks for the help Bigmet!

Re: Scrounging for DCC blanking plate
I thought about this problem some more and then found this pic of a blanking plate:

So I just soldered a spare DCC plug I had cut off a decoder as shown in the pic and it works
Cheers!

I suppose a piece of veroboard with some wires soldered in would have done as long as the spacings were 0.1" between pins.

As tom tom go says. If you join the three pins together in each corner, as per the photo, it will will give you direction and lights as well.
I use an eight pin connector made up of 2 x 4 Maplins pins glued to together and electrically joined using staples soldered together. It works for me.
Maplins part JW59P I think they are, £1.19 for 16, makes 4 plugs.
