Sound decoders with built in motor control will cost around >£80 to £120 each depending of make and what sound files are loaded onto them.
There are several UK sound decoder suppliers such as Olivias, Howes and South West Digital to name three.

Hi
Sounds like pricing is the most important part of your sound project so why not look at the Digitrax sound decoder. Under or around 40 GBP. I wouldnt touch them as cost is the 7th on my list.
1 Sound quality and available files
2 Ease of programming
3 Size (important for n gauge)
4 Reliability
5 Running qualities
6 Availability
7 Cost
Cheers
