Whats the story behind that???
Always a good talking point, and raises a laugh, at shows when it's run on one of the layouts. The prototype was originally a Lancaster allocated loco nearing the end of it's life, and chosen to haul the Daily Mirror sponsored Blackpool specials from Manchester Victoria. Fitted with a chime whistle from a Clan class pacific, painted in signal red, and yellow at Horwich, and transferred to Newton Heath in June 1959, and worked the specials in the July, after which was promptly withdrawn for scrap. But it certainly appeals to my sense of humour :) :) .

I sent a copy of this pic to Peco in early 2009, but they weren't interested - spoil sports. :(

Bachmann pannier tank, special edition No. 4612 model.

She was the first loco I bought with my own money, the first I fitted with DCC the first to receive a lit firebox and her real-life counterpart was the first loco I ever went into the cab of.

ok, my fav loco has to be my Tri-ang Nellie, originly plain black, bought for me by my Dad in 1964, now rebuilt with 14 mm Romfords and a DS 10, awaiting proper cab detail , handrails , ect- nearly as bad for you as eating Ben and Jerrys Cookie Dough[when you are a Diabetic] but just as ''feel good''.

My favourite model is my GWR Winchester Castle locomotive

My Tingetal castle is a better model and is far superior in terms of detail and running quality but Winchester Castle has more sentamental meaning to be me

recently purchased a Wickham Trolley Car from Peter's Spares in Middlesbrough,
runs well but a bit too fast,
also bought a Bachman 4-8-0 0-8-4 for £10 about 35/40 years ago from a neighbour who due to sever arthritis was unable to run it, checked price in Railway Modeller it was about £135 so went back to him with more money but he refused and sold me 6 hand made coaches for another £15

My current favourite., which is actually made up of spare parts. It's been slightly lowered and the non working light up headcodes have been covered over with transfers .

Though not a model, I have a lovely controller that I am planning to use on a future garden railway and I love it! :D

This is my favourite, the last GWR engines ;-) Way back in the dark ages there was no RTR one in 00, so every year it was the first thing looked for in the new Hornby catalogue, but never found. Then Trix released one - but in HO. I got one, kind of in desperation, together with one of their HO blue/white Mk 1 Buffet cars. Despite the scale issue, it became my model favourite as well as real-life - both the engine and coach were way in advance of Hornby in all respects. Anyhow, after an awful lot of years and re-starting in O (lockdown) I was left alone with the credit card for a few minutes and... with sound and 'medium weathering' (which unfortunately also included the windows :-( ) Shame about the buffer heads, just look 'wrong'. Yeah, dust...
