Most of Shawhurst is now complete, hence starting the thread in this section.

Second photo: 2217 coupled up and now that the branch 02 powered push-pull train connection from Hindhead has arrived is ready to depart. Meanwhile 2277 is about to move on shed for servicing for a later return train to Didcot.

Re: Shawhurst
Army saddle tank 98 Royal Engineer arrives at Shawhurst off the Hindhead branch on an operational training exercise from Longmoor and is passing Shawhurst Box 2. I have this loco and brake van in memory of my late father who was in the Royal Engineers based at Longmore in the Railway Operating Division.
In my make believe model railway world Shawhurst Box 1 is just up the line and controls entrance to Shawhursts goods yard facilities and turntable. However one day these may well be future extension
