My collection
Hi Guys Sorry if this is the wrong place to post (may be we need a show off section) But thought id show them off
But here is some of my inherited collection from my late father (some in a sorry state)
Makes motor noise does not move
SpitFire Great condition non running tho
Melted
Boxes for above
Noisy runner. 1 exhaust, 2bumpers, 1 walkway Missing but runs great If any one has replacemnts give me a shout
X7 with some hocks missing otherwise great shape
Plus some rolling stock shown in this video1 https://youtu.be/p5IZsZf4XTc and some more not shown
There was many more but have no idea where they have vanished to throughout the years of living in boxes etc
Some of mine to add to the collection
Received a week ago new still sealed And God she is great
My dad passed away the same year these came out and remember him saying he always wanted a Mallard But did not match his southern collection. But Know there is one! Video of her running https://youtu.be/W7C6De0ogR4
Also received this in the post today in mint condition with working interior lights (roof not scratched just dirt.
I remember as a kid every year we would go on holiday to dartmouth and ride in this so thought it fitting to add to the collection. (Also in above video1.)
Today i brought this baby.
The detail on her is amazing Oh she was pulling the load in the above video1.
Oh and again sorry if this is in the wrong place.
Plus any advice on getting the old ones going would be gratefully received

Re: My collection
Check the cylinder block on the Bulleid Pacific hasn't split into 2 pieces where it's screwed to the chassis. This happened to my one and my best mates Bulleid as well. Both were received as Christmas present in 1986, both failed with this fault which jammed the motion within 2 years.
Sadly the replacement cylinder block for this loco is a hard to find now.

Re: My collection
I have the BR maroon version, only gripe about it is that there is no coupling (or NEM pocket) at the observation end, I had to fabricate a gizmo that fits over the buffers to remove it from the back of train and shunt it around.End2end wrote:Great collection!

Is it supposed to?luckymucklebackit wrote:I have the BR maroon version, only gripe about it is that there is no coupling (or NEM pocket) at the observation end, I had to fabricate a gizmo that fits over the buffers to remove it from the back of train and shunt it around.

I thought the observation coach ran at the rear end of the train so nothing blocks the rear view.
To be honest the only time i've seen the real observation coach was from atop Corfe Castle looking down at Corfe station where the ob coach was at the rear.
Thanks

Re: My collection
But when the train arrives at its destination, you have to get a pilot locomotive on the back to remove the observation car, take it to the turntable and get it turned. then get it positioned at the back of the outgoing service. This is probably the reason why the prototype was discontinued!End2end wrote:Is it supposed to?luckymucklebackit wrote:I have the BR maroon version, only gripe about it is that there is no coupling (or NEM pocket) at the observation end, I had to fabricate a gizmo that fits over the buffers to remove it from the back of train and shunt it around.

AHH! I see! I suppose that, plus the removal of most turntables made the ob coach unworkable or redundant sadly.
Thanks for the additional info Jim.

Re: My collection
Sorry to further hijack this post, but this was my solution to the lack of a coupling on the Observation ca
