This might give you a clue;

In GWR times smokebox numberplates where, well, non-existance on the GWR.

So why have Hornby put a Smokebox Numberplate on Albert Hall? if you look on the tender its in 'Great Western' times not BR........Hmmmmmmmm :? :?:

Am I the only person Sad enough to notice this?

In that first photograph there are 2 LMS insulated Milk vans right behind the Crab.
I dont suppose you want to make that 3? I have one surplus to requirments :D

Nope ! A lot of the early GWR r-t-r models have smoke box doors with cast number plates - even if the have not got printed numbers on them. Variations were unheard of in those days and only one smoke box door type would be modelled by the various manufacturers. Have a look at the pre-production shots of the new Hornby Castle and see how far things have come. Mind you, it's going to cost an awful lot more than my Hagley Hall did !

That is looking superb!
Attention to detail is amazing.
I only hope I can mine to look half as good!

Can't wait to see how the river comes out.

One comment though! Shouldn't the Whistle sign at tunnel entrance by river bridge be on the left of the track? Just thought all signals/signs should be on left of track for driver to see (not really sure).

I always thought it was the Firemans job to look out for things like that, I cant remember where I read/heard that, it made it sound that the firemans job was realllllly difficult, stoking the fire and keeping an eye out for speed limits and signals and stuff! :? maybe

The Most Attractive Loco I Own

This update features just one locomotive, at the head of just one train. But it is, I think, the most attractive locomotive I own, and the pictures that follow include some of the best I think I've taken of the railway...

Hi Gavin, many thanks for the J39 photo's with a decent rake of lovely coaches there and indeed thank you for sharing all the photo's What would you charge to come here and make my layout looking even half as good as yours :D

I am longing to get on with some scenics and buildings but am stuck with wiring the system bus and led's on the mimic panel. It seems to be taking forever.

Never mind I expect to start with the scenics around spring time so the environment in the loft should be much improved.
