REAL STEAM (NOT PRESERVED) IN THE 21ST CENTURY

Post by TEAMYAKIMA »

Just thought I'd post some photos of REAL steam in China in the 21st century in order to (hopefully) explain why I now model Chinese model railways.

The last year of BIG steam action anywhere in the world - Jan/Feb 2005

This one in minus 20 centigrade

When I lived in North Tynedale I was a member of Gunnerton Rail Circle. Not a model Club, but showing Films and slides of railways around the world. One member was often showing films of steam engines in Northern China. Great pictures.

Wow! I love your first photo in particular!

I'm sure there is still regular services in steam in India somewhere, but back in 1988 it was still fairly common - this is my best 'big steam' photo!
