Ok guys, just thought I'd randomly post photographs as I haven't much else to show right now..

First of all a little quiz.

Third photo, something that might show for those that dislike the cliche factor *cough* PETE *cough* why so many people model the Great Western Railway:



No steam in that photo, but the station and the surroundings are lovely.

And finally for now one of my favourite locomotive types of them all:

Unfortunately I don't posess any of my own photos of French/German railways . I have to make do with what I can get from books and the web. If I make it to France later this year I'll have my camera ready though .

Do I detect some continental leanings?

Interest yes, leanings no. Purely fantasy I'm afraid at this stage as far as train modelling goes. Mind you, with so many great ideas on this site, who knows[img][/img]

How about under some ivy and a couple of mature trees..



Unsure what exactly to have in a loco service area for steam engines?

water tank... ok.. inspection pit...maybe.... conveyor belt? For coal presumably. I'll have to get one of those!
All I have is a guy with a shovel. Pannier tanks for the memories :^)

The conveyor belt I assume is for coal, yeah..

Keep in mind though Rob that the photo was taken in 2005 on a preserved line (the Swanage Railway for those interested) and the period you're modelling may not have made use of conveyors.. Personally I've not looked into what equipment was introduced when.. May be worth you looking it up.

Any photographs I post in here I've posted for inspiration purposes and are to be taken purely as something to get you thinking.

Hopefully they'll do that
