Regarding the first shot - you didn't tell us you had a time machine! :D

Brilliant photos all round. I guess you must do a fair bit of travelling up and down the line to get all those photos - do you travel on the trains?

Thanks, I usually always travel on the trains during my visits. On this occasion I was there for Friday & Saturday and was on my own for much of the day. As a result I did the 15 minute walk between Loughborough & Woodthorpe for the first shots, got the train to Quorn and another 15 minute walk for the sunny shots just outside of there.

Excellent pics, the 8F looks great, although I heard the red did begin ti show through at times! Still, it cheered the livery purists up briefly...

Thanks, the red was certainly reappearing on the tender. I'd never seen the 8F running (only in light steam before) until this gala and they did a fantastic job, she really did look in 60's condition.
