Very interesting. Is this some kind of special train for tourists?

Hi SylviaNeeleydes. Welcome to the Forum.

The train is a service train and because of the uniqueness of the line etc. it carries a great number of tourists.

This is a view out of the 'Ooty train' (a rack railway) in south India as the loco works hard to push the train uphill over an impressive viaduct (taken in about 1989):

Earlier in the journey there had been an unscheduled stop to wait for wild elephants to clear the line . . .

Next: more views from a train :-)

Another one from the train, 47715 drops off the SRPS excursion that it has brought from Falkirk at Keighley, where it was replaced by the unlikely pairing of 0-6-0T 47279 and the KWVR resident class 25 which was deputising for another steam loco that failed that morning

Next - another railtour

I'll claim this as a railtour - it was one of those interesting NSE days when Cambridge was a focus for unusual motive power to King's Lynn.
