Hi Richard those pics are hellfire and yes that is how i remember 35 Ark Royal best in that garish ONSE totthpaste livery 
but i prefered it in Large Logo and RNSE dark blue.
Also never saw a 76 in rel life so that was interesting.

Hi Richard was 40044 scrapped? i am guessing.
Love the pic of Repulse could never decided between this one and St Vincent as my 10th fave but i think no 4 was the better engine just
Forgot to add that pic of 35 was in 1988? this is because over New Years eve 88 thieves got into Old Oak and stole both crests from 50032/35/37/50 and 1 set of cests from 50046 
I belive they were caught and BR recovered them but chose not to refit them as the 50's did not have a long term future.50031 escaped as it was at Oxford so was not a victim.

No ian 40044 was repaired and carried on a few years after that photo was taken and appeared without gangway doors.

sadly most are 2 small to print and most are taken at swindon scrapyard.50036 will be uploaded later.i do have a pic of 1010 taken just after haulage from paddington at reading but is in a poor state taken 8/10/76.
