I like the first photo on the bridge. I am not sure what I think of the nameplate, it doesn't seem to fit with the loco.

the nameplate is similar to this one for 60156 Great Central:

it might look better with a black background

Hi Adam .....as steamers are invariably late through "Aldwarke Junction" I find the Fitzwilliam Canal a nice place because its quiet and I can go there with my dog and just relax in a peaceful location ....although how long it will stay like like that is anyones guess .... :? ....THEY? .... are building a bl**dy great big B&Q store right behind where I took the pic from.
I'm hoping to photo A4's SNG & UoSA next tuesday [although personal circumstances may dictate otherwise] .... I might use your fave location [Primrose Bridge] ...because although its not as scenic [imho] ....at least you get a warning when the loco is about to appear ...the prob with the "canal" is that you cant see the track and it gets overgrown in trees in the summer.... I tried taking a few pics of diesels whilst I was down there waiting for Tornado, but they'd come & gone before i had the camera ready .... :|

best regards
Terry

Hi all ....I went to my old childhood haunt "Aldwarke Junction" today to see SNG & UoSA returning to York from Barrow Hill.

:( Unfortunately, when the locos came steaming through,I discovered that my batterys in my camera had gone flat.
:D Fortunately,my old childhood "spotting pal" Micky was there too .....so heres the pics he e-mailed me ....there was'nt much to see of the Union as Sir Nigel was pouring a real good clag out.

Many thanks to my old mate Micky Booy for the use of the pics ....

Thanks to Terry B's info I found a spot at Rother valley for the return trip to York.
Afraid the second picture is a bit out of focus ( that's what you get for having a new camera) It was rather smokey though, but at least we got a blast on the whistle as he went past.

Hi Terry,

Some great pictures, particularly liked the shot of 66019 earlier in the thread.
The last picture of the "Teddybear" / Class 14 is D9523 which is in the BR maroon livery. There is a D9516 at Nene valley but i believe that its still in Br Green livery along with a few others they got over there :)

Regards

Adam P.

 Ah,Ah  ...all is now apparent ...
I did'nt actually notice the number ...I just took it as D9xx8 [so,the "8" was a "3"]
I was actually sat outside Wansford Station Buffet eating a fried breakfast [and for the benefit of anyone who aint tried the fried breakfasts at Wansford ...they're best on the whole of the A1] .... Anyways,it came trundling past so I picked up my camera & zoomed in on it,fired a quick shot and carried on eating my bacon, egg, sausage, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, black pudd'n & fried bread etc et al.
It had long gone before I'd finished eating.
Cheers for clearing that up for me Adam.

best regards
T.
