I gave it a try but I didn't see it come through. It wouldn't of been any good anywho. I tried to take a photo of a Class 90 on freight, couldn't see a thing - the photo was a mass of black. I think that there is an earlier Sleeper at 21:33. I'll see if I can get that.

Good luck with the 21:33 sleeper. Can I recommend that you check this page, It's the refreshing version of the live departures and arrivals for Watford junction station. It should let you know if it's running eraly, late and the like.

Is it still running? I didn't see it come through. My Dad says that the service has been withdrawn. Still couldn't take a decent photo. Its either my incompetance or a bad camera...or both.

I don't believe it. I was sitting watching telly when my sister came in saying that a blasted steamer came through! I look on loads of websites looking for loco movements and they all say that nowts coming through Watford!
:x :x :x :( :(
However, it was heading to Euston so there is a good chance of it coming back. I am off now to see if I can find any info. then I shall make residance in the back garden. Fingers crossed!
btw if anyone knows any furthur info - tell me please.

I cannot believe what I have just seen. I was out the back helping by brother-in-law and sister dig the back garden. We saw about 6 Class 66, a Class 90 and two Class 92's. Not only that but at 21:32 the Royal Train came through! With the two Class 67's (heading towards Euston), then after that the Royal Mail train (also Euston bound) and then at 21:50 the Caledonian Sleeper went through on its way to Scotland. What an evening!

(Just a shame my Dad went down to Hythe with the camera).

I must have just missed the royal train then, I get the train in from Tring to work at Euston regularly, and there are 3 regular movements you haven't yet photographed, I'll tell you what they are so you can try and spot them, 1st is container trains hauled by pairs of class 86 electrics and second is container trains hauled by pairs of class 56 diesels, also there is a post train I have seen heading through Tring most week nights between 9 and 10pm heading south, so get watching!

I often see the post train come through. However my Dad is on holiday with the camera so no photos until Saturday, if you do know the times of anything interesting coming through then I will be more than happy to try to get a photo or two.

I don't have a timetable or anything but recently I have noticed on tuesday and wednesday nights I have seen intermodal trains with 86's in pairs and 56's in pairs. but it;s totally luck of the draw.

I seriously doubt there 56's the last ones where withdrawn by EWS in 2004, you are probably thinking of class 57's. Class 86's are still used by frieghtliner on the intermodel trains so you would have seen them.
