Rail Gen

Does anyone use Rail Gen for info on whats where? What do the codes mean they use 5ZRR etc? i am guessing it is some sort of diagram ref but have no idea where to translate it!

5ZRR would be the headcode for the train (what it is, how fast it can go, where it is going and the train number).

Most people join their local Gen group on Yahoo or subscribe to Freightmaster to get workings and gen. After a while you build up a contact list of reliable sources, good places for photography, etc

Its a new discovery this Gen thing. Living where I do (SW19) there are masses of rail lines around me - but its being at the right place to see something interesting without giving over hours at a time!
