And the next photo will have...(real railway version)

Re: And the next photo will have...(real railway version)
Sorry for the dust specks, but it's a scan of a colour slide I took in the mid 1970s that I haven't had time to tidy up yet. A DMU just outside Arbroath. I thought it was of an Arbroath to Dundee service leaving Arbroath, but now I'm wondering if it was heading the other way - unless someone forgot to change the indicator board......

A slightly different photo this time - a station building rather than a train or locomotive. The Strathspey Railway in 1975. I was driving the two tone Cortina in the middle at the time......PinkNosedPenguin wrote:Next - something Scottish

Ah the iconic Mk1 Cortina, not the single colour "repmobile" version
Growing old, can't avoid it. Growing up, forget it!

It was a very early model, without flow through ventilation, and the number plate (XHS 119), which was original, didn't have a letter after the number. It probably met its fate a few decades ago as, when I was driving it, there was so much rust in it that the front wings were held together by body-filler.Bufferstop wrote:Ah the iconic Mk1 Cortina, not the single colour "repmobile" version

Not the Scottish Highlands but the Himalayas - the (Batasia?) loop on the DHR in about 1993:Wolseley wrote:Next: Highland Railway.

Next - more trains in the mountains. I think that this should qualify, Fraser Canyon, British Columbia, Canada.
Let's stay in the hills for at least another one.

Perhaps not what you meant, but here's part of the play area in the park above the underground station at Castle Hill, on Sydney's new Metro line - the local council's title is "The Hills Shire Council" (which reminds me - the council rates payment is due soon)Lancastrian wrote:Let's stay in the hills for at least another one.
And, in case you're wondering about the vintage look, it was taken on Ilford XP2 black and white film, using a 1936 Leica IIIa, with an uncoated 5cm Elmar lens.

Not sure if this counts? Platforms on a bridge? It is of course Charing Cross (taken from aboard the London Eye in 2009):Lancastrian wrote:Next: Another station with a difference.
