New project....

Postby Dinmore Manor » Sat Sep 01, 2007 1:27 pm

Having built a little layout for someone else towards the end of last year that some of you may remember it is about time I got round to building something for myself! I can't build what I want for the time being due to a house move coming up at some point so have decided to build a little layout to play around with for now that can be stored and moved easily. The scenic part of the layout will be just 4' by 14" that splits into 2 and will fit together face to face for storage, the track plan can be found below. Cheers, Mike

If it's anything approaching the standard of the last one Mike , it will be a treasure - waiting with baited breath :!
Good luck with it

Can't wait to see how you get on with this one.
As stated above the last one was very good!
You have a high standard to live up to!

The boards are coming along now, the basic construction should be finished this evening, the construction will be semi open frame when complete as some sections of the baseboard, eg. track bed and platform area need to be raised by 1 1/2" leaving a lower section around the stream etc.

Left hand board almost complete now with the right hand not far behind, The lower piece at front will eventually be contoured to the shape of the scenery.

Both boards now complete apart from track bed.

The track bed will be mounted at this sort of height:

The two boards in storage mode "face to face" should fit neatly into bottom of wardrobe when not in use/being worked on:

Excellent stuff DM!

Nice to see a truly excellent standard of 'chippymanship' ;)

Look forward to the updates as they arrive!

Cheers
