Sorry for the 2 week silence. Been skiing (Free) for 9 days in Saas Fee and then I sold my Laptop so was offline for a week.

Progress report? Well, painted a bit more base board and got some track down. Just got another box of track off eBay, mainly corners, so hoping this sunday to get some more down. Pics will follow ehn i do.

Well, I must say, it's been a while !

Still my son is now ONE year old and my life is slowly getting back "On track" HA HA.

So, today I crept into the loft and looked at my designs, and started tacking track down again after a 12 months silence...

Made a couple of alterations to the design but suffice to say the top and right of the design is now in place (NOT THE mountain, I'll do that last)

Oh, and no electric yet !

I love how your mountian works, and how the siding come out of the side of it, but what are the grey bits if track?

Edit: Opps sorry, just realised that these are roads?

Yes, roads... the top track is elevated and the bits that pop out will be quarries... I hope; Maybe there will be only one due to space (amazing how BIG OO is when you start using points) but i think i will design some pretend off shoots into the mountains. I have some broken points (Ebay) and I may superglue them as straights and run sidings into a tunnels (That only go in so far as you can't see lol)

It is going to be slate quarries, like in Llanberris but with trains.

Yes that would work, however I think it would be really good if you were able to actually run trains in and out,I will give a go at making it on hornby virtual railway if you like? Do you have any set dimensions?

I am in the middle of putting the "rising" track into place and trying (in desperation) to put the basic outline of my mountain in place...

Not as easy as I thought it was going to be!

There will be pictures before I go to bed!

Okay, here are the pictures so far. The only track not done is the rising track seen here on Grey poles.

Image

The wiggly 3 sidings are going to be a petroleum/chemical works

Image

The rising gray track can be seen better here, not put in place yet, just to show where it will go (tomorrow maybe)

Image

The "mountain" base. The little siding will be in a quarry and the two at the bottom will enter a lower quarry.

Image

The rising line can be seen (in place YAY) in the far distance here. The next 4 lines are my main station. All the stuff in the foreground is sidings with the nearest two coming from the right (which will be a depot of some description).

Image

Finally you can see where the depot will be (Where the coach is sat) and another siding is visible. In the distance you can see the express corner point leading up to the quarry. The main lines down this side need to be finished to complete the double continuous loop.
