when the other half has got the front room sorted out and the crafting table is cleared (it has the other halfs card making stuff on at the min). I will be able to start work on it. I am doing this layout in modules so it is easy to move. The embankment is sat on 2foot wide x 4 foot long boards most of the boards are going to be like that. there are 2 1 foot 6 x 4 foot boards that will be used on the yards that are near the station. i have worked out how much board i will need for the shed area and it is nearly 6 foot square not including the road down to it but that will be just 3/4 of a metre long and a foot an half wide. i will post a pic or 2 on here in few min (by time you have read this it will be on hopefully)!!

i don't know if i said what modelling stuff i used on this
Proto type models for the Bridge Kit
metcalfe models for the platform kit
Printed paper that i got off the Internet model site (forget which one)
wire for the bridge (out the misses crafting kit)
gonna be using peco track if possible but for now using the Hornby track for the min just to get it right, mark it all out properly then relay it with peco track as i have started using peco points now instead of the hornby points.
I suppose i could use the hornby stuff for little bits like sidings etc.

Here is the provisional track plan of the spur to the shed. i won't be doing the shed area straight away but the spur will be in place ready for work to commence. the grass and all the other work will be done on the spur. There will be a buffer stop at the end of the line so all i have do will be just lift it off the line. it will be used as a siding for the time being though. "(maybe for loco's ready to be worked on for preservation)."
I have a variety of locos to run on the layout here is what i have listed below;-
1 9f
2 8f
1 castle class
1 manor class
1 standard class (need working on)
1 2mt 2-6-0
1 2-6-2
1 terrier 0-6-0
1 pug 0-4-0
1 jinty
1 bullied pacific
2 jubilees
12 peaks
2 class 25's
5 class 20's
1 08
1 DMU (need working on old triang)
1 mogul
1 2-6-4 4P
1 4-6-2 Duchess of Sutherland Northern Belle
1 4-6-2 Princess Margeret Rose
1 4-6-2 Princess Elizabeth The Royal Train
! 4-6-2 The Flying Scotsman (train pack)
1 4-6-2 britania william wordsworth
1 4-6-2 bodicia VSOE box set
about 30 coaches
about 20 wagons
There will be a few extra sidings made for the locos to be stabled opposite the station area added and it will be blended in with the setting.
Today i went to Ruddington Diesel gala (bank holiday monday) it was top and tailed by 2 class 20's (1 at each end) and they ran all the way to Loughborough North of the gap. They stopped just before the spur that runs off on to the main line. In the marquee tent there was a small model of what they would like to run (but they do want a double track it) to fill the gap.
I have taken some pictures of the model it is in Z guage (if not smaller).
it is in single track form but they was on about double traking it as it would be in keeping with the original setting, also they are saying that a viaduct mad from blue engineering bricks would look alot better than a embankment (which i would agree with).
Here is the Shed at Loughborough with maxium magnification on my camera so i appologise for the quality of the picture
Here is the same picture with quarter the magnification
Here is the same picture again but with normal magnification ( or none at all)
i am aiming for something like this but bit further south of the midland mainline.
