Ribbleshire- Dave "2"s OO gauge layout.

Postby PTmodeller » Fri Jun 01, 2007 10:09 pm

Mostly finished the boards today, just need the tops screwing on. Got myself a plan, basically a oval with a hole in the middle. Building it with Streamline. Station at the front. Big goods yard and factories as well. Should get some nice sweeping curves and trains running in through the countryside. I'll post a plan up in the morning, and a fleet picture, since that's the latest fashion :)

Anyway, off to bed now.

One last thing, what do you think of these names?

Lulwood, inspired by the area I live in.
Nopston, Just random.

Forgot to mention, stock will be mostly sectorisation diesal, but a railtour company operates over the line, so some steam will make an appearence as well.

Sounds like a good plan to me mate. Are you gonna have half countryside and half industrial/city? I'm not sure about the names, I think the first one sounds better and also it's closer to you.

Good Luck.

Danny.

I'm really no expert on liveries. Just gonna run Transrail, an Intercity HST, the odd bit of Loadhaul and Mainline, and some regional railways.

Danny, yes, it will be something like that, the station exists to serve a large industrial estate of some sort or other.

Hey you two.

I've decided on a time period, 1990-2000. The Trainload liverys will be there, as will Transrail and early Freightliner.

This will also allow me to operate early EWS stuff, and Freightliner 57's.

Class 66's are BANNED!

Also now have enough ply. Board should be finished by tomorrow.

EWS Stock will be 47's, 37's, 58's, 31's and 33's. They will be from Heljan/Bachmann. Just need Hornby to do the 31.

Class 66's are evil. I may get one in EWS, but since Bachmanns is Sound, and the Hornby one doesn't bear thinking about, it's quite low on my list.

Along the back is a drooped section, allowing a viaduct. It'll be based on the one above, with an iron central span over a river. It's on the old Ingleton Branch, and is the "Lune Waterside". It's close to Shap Summit.

Track plan for the station:
Image

Will be the front part of the loop.

At one, that's the way into a inner city goods yard.

At two, that's the route into a flyover.

It has three platforms, two on the main line, and one at the top. The loop is there so stuff can still access the flyover while somethings in the station.

At the bottom, the two tracks are simply sidings.

Suggestions welcome.

Wow I like that bridge, should add some dramatic scenry to you layout for it to fit in with. Are you sure you gonna have room for it though?

I like the station plan, is the layout going to be loose prototype then?

Danny.

The bridge won't be identicle. the dropped bit's around 115 cm. Maybe 8 standard arches? Or 6 and a central one? How did you do your green ones?

Not a prototype, just me.
