That should be a very nice station. I reckon an overall roof would really make it look impressive and 'mainline'.

I'm thinking of having the peco station over roof on there when i get round to buying all the buildings for the layout.

Looks a great trackplan. Wish I had that much room.

Hi Steve,

Forgive me here but I am trying to figure out what exactly is on the lower level and the incline between the two levels.

Is the lower level just the area where the fiddle yard is located? Also, I know you have indicated where the tracks are for the incline but I am trying to understand if these tracks travel right round the layout to reach the lower level.

Sorry for asking daft questions!

Nah not a daf question at all i got asked the same one on my old layout on another forum anyway in these two pics the blue tracks are the lower level, red tracks are the upper level and the green tracks are the inclines between the two.

Thanks Steve,

The colours have helped a lot. Makes things simple for me. :D

You may have mentioned this before, but what are the heights of the two levels?

Anyway, looks like an interesting plan and looking forward to seeing pics of the progress.

The station area will be at a height of 90mm or 100mm so i can get my hand under better to clean the track, and to fix any derailed loco or rolling stock that might happen to derail in the fiddle yard. While the rest of the upper level will be at 80mm and 60mm high.

I now realise, I think!, that the top level will not be as wide on three sides of the layout. i.e. looking at the plan the left, top and right sides.

I noticed, from your reply to my question on HVR2, that it does not support extra levels. I was thinking that maybe an option here would be to have two separate plans. One could concentrate on showing the top level and the inclines and the other plan depicting the sidings and fiddle yard.

Thanks for your patience in describing this to me anyway and good luck with the construction :D

I know what you mean and i can do it like that but it won't look right with part of the layout empty.

Well last night i thought i would see how many points will be on the layout and there are 47 in total and i only need another 17 for the layout, and i will get them once the lower level is complete.

I think that's what Dynamite has done...

I think Steve knows what I meant :)

To clarify where I was coming from, for anyone who thinks I am off my head , both pictures partly show the same track. A mix of upper and lower levels. I was suggesting a complete separation for the track plans.

Sorry if it sounds like I was being critical Steve, just trying to suggest possible ways of making it easier to read/view considering the limitation's of HVR2. Understand what you are saying about it not looking right though I am sure I have seen this done before and it didn't look odd.

Anyway, it's your track plan. Don't change it on my account. It is clear now what the layout will look like after the answers you gave me :D

Hi Steve,

Yes, that is it.

LOL, well no one can say they do not understand the layout now. We have three different sets of plans now......

I am cursing here as I try and find somewhere on the web that has HVR2 in stock and at a reasonable price. Have given up and ordered it from Holt Model Railways but I have no idea if it is actually in stock or not. Shall probably find out on Monday.
