Stainsacre Lane
It’s been a while since I had a working railway...
The long term plan is to have a simple layout around three sides of the smallest bedroom. Although I have sole occupancy of the room, that isn’t guaranteed so any railway construction needs to be movable.
Phase one will be a simple yard on a single board seven feet in length. This will allow for simple shunting manoeuvres to take place before the rest of the layout takes shape.

Re: Stainsacre Lane - Adventures in a box room
The board has been constructed from 4 & 6mm ply, so despite its size it is reasonably rigid and can be manoeuvred around if required.
The Box room sizes make it hard to get a picture of the full layout in situ so here it is in one of the other rooms:

Typical Yorkshire, looks like it's raining over those distant hills.
As is always said, because it's true - The first step is the hardest
I will admit that looks more than just one step, so rolling again !!
Keep it going Dave.

Looks a confident start, landscape preceeds railway, by a few millennia. I'll try not to delete this one

Yes Geoff, I wanted to get past a bare piece of wood before going public

Not a great deal of progress, but I did manage to plant a few trees (can anyone else remember the 'Plant a tree in 73' campaign?) and sew some grass seed that's just starting to sprout.

The beauty of a portable board is the ability to put it on its side and make connecting up the electrics a great deal easier:
The yard is now all wired up, trains run, so I can move onto the ground scenics:

Re: Back Lane
Another wall, another board...
This one is skinnier at 8" wide, and will have a single track running through it to link a very small fiddle yard through to the main yard.
