I never did get the bridge. I think the model shops would only sell a certain range of things in stock. I saw it in the catalogue. Also, birthday and Christmas and pocket money savings did not go that far but I did get a few nice things like a Mainline class 45 (I always aanted a Hornby class 37 and 47 and I never had either until adult years... (As an adult I managed to get Lima examples first. The Hornby 37 was lowered on its old Triang chassis and the slot filled at the one end to make it look much better).
I was puzzled at the load the wagon took when seen in the Hornby catalogue. The grains were like miniature round long can like shapes. Were they prototypical for iron ore in that area? Our iron ore was very different here.

No idea, Mountain. As I say, members of our family were there in 1930s. Stories of that time were handed down, but more of a personal nature.

As for the Hornby model, perhaps the shape of the grains were easier on the tippler?

I still have some of the original loads for the Ore Wagons, it doesn't look like any real iron ore I've ever seen. I wonder if the loads were just plastic pellets that might normally have been used in the injection moulding machines? Triang's original ore wagons were plain grey, I have several. They also did a grey grain wagon, a departmental hopper and a continental looking bogie wagon with a trapdoor. I have an ore bridge on my layout and will at some point put up a video of the long ore train unloading :) .

Is that a drone on your shed roof? I wondered how you were getting your photos.
Drones are too modern for this railway, captrees. :) It is a bird on the roof. A few are about the layout, along with other wildlife, cats and dogs. :D

Our younger Granddaughter is here for the weekend. She has been playing with the lighting at Sovereign Street.

Pottering about freshening up some scenery, then the sunshine through the window joined in. No alterations to the photographs whatsoever.

Thank you for your kind comments, Daniel.

The light coming through the window sometimes makes strange looking pictures. :)

As for the grandchildren? By letting them operate the layout their way not only do they come back, but give many ideas.

All good fun. yeah!

A slightly new look at the Junction and backscene.

With the new scenery and backscene in place trains are running again. Most of the time I just see glimpses of the train; just how I like it.
A Wakefield Kirkgate to Leeds Central DMU is seen (just).

Light snow has fallen at Leeds Sovereign Street Station. Will it clear, or is there more to come?

Late evening.

The beauty of having a secondary route layout, diverted trains can be run as and when. :)

Those panoramas are very interesting, blown up to full size. I think we may be breeding the same type of sheep. Perhaps we could swap rams some time?
