I agree with Dan 8)

Thanks Dan.

It really is a simple scene to do and different to the usual.

In the 1920s/30s members of our family worked in Management at Consett Iron Company.
I purchased some wagons a little while back. Every so often I give them a trip around the layout.

Class 47 47404 'Hadrian' is in charge. The locomotive is jut on the lift off bridge, hence the small gap. Clarence Dock Goods Yard is behind.

A scene at Clarence Dock Goods Yard. Not prototypical I know. Just a fun scene (to me) bringing back a few memories. Are we loading or unloading?

Class 56 56035 on a rare visit to Clarence Dock Goods Yard. Now everything is up and running again the loading gauges etc. need 'bedding in'.

Class 47 47299 is on her way to Stourton Freightliner Yard. Seen here about to pass 'The Junction'.

A red liveried diverted Down Postal is seen passing The Junction.

Any excuse for Matt Summers to stop work on tidying up the garden as he watches the Down Postal.

IMG_5800.JPG

A 45t crane languishes in the yard. It is HO scale from the Austrian maker Kleinbahn. IMO just the right size not to overpower the scene.

Watching trains from the control area. You know they are there, but can hardly see them.
A DMU on its way from Leeds Central to Dewsbury Market Place.

Seen looking from Roseville School.

Nice layout Glencairn, tons of detail & colourful scenery, like it. Nice collection of locos and dmu's you've got there.

It's a shame Crown Point is now a shopping precinct :( (ok, there's a hobbycraft there :D ) But good to see you're keeping it alive in model form.

All the best.....Andy

Thank you for your kind comments, Andy. They are much appreciated.
Although the layout is freelance, there are real places mentioned to give (imo) believability to the running of trains.

A cold Winter's morning. A train of empty cattle trucks heading North to Wetherby, passing Leeds Sovereign Street Station, Class 25 25237 in charge.

Thank you, Stainsacre. Just something different and using old plastic locomotives. Rust them up a bit. :)

The beauty of having a secondary line off the main line is I can run diverted train as and when I feel like it even though not on the timetable.

Class 52 D1016 Western Gladiator on a diverted Swansea to Leeds Central. Class 52s very rarely made the whole journey through to Leeds. I know the odd one or two did.

This time it is 'Modellers Licence'. Another Class 52 D1010 Western Campaigner entering the spur to Crown Point Yard. She has been on the Liverpool to Leeds Central leg of a Leeds to Newcastle service.

Is that a drone on your shed roof? I wondered how you were getting your photos.

I love the Triang-Hornby Operating Ore Wagons. Do you have the bridge somewhere to unload them?

No, GeraldH. I only bought them because members of our family were on the Management Team at Consett in the 1930s. Totally out of area and timescale for Crown Point & Sovereign Street, but good fun to operate.

I remember when I first had one of those. I loved it! We bought it in a model railway and toy shop which no longer exists. My pare ts had to go to the garden centre on the hill outside the town so we went in the car (Reliant Regal saloon) to there and I had it out of its box and was playing with it all the way, as I loved that drop door! Mine was a green one. Only recently I realized that they did more types in the past.

I can imagine it working well and the enjoyment of it all. I thought there was only green ore wagons. Only recently did I see the red ones. The British steel are Wrenn. I don't know if Hornby made those as well.
