I used to have one of those ore wagons which I bought as a child around the year 1980 and I remember being in my Dads car just after buying it and having it out the box and looking at it while my Dad drove up from the town to the garden centre a few miles out of town so my Mum could buy some seeds or plants.
I was not able to buy any more or get the bridge they offload at but I loved playing with that wagon!

Every so often Clarence Dock becomes 'Gillingham Pier' so I can run my Medway Queen wagons for 'half an hour'. :)

A misty morning as a Class 121 Seacroft to Leeds Central approaches. The line is a secondary one now and becoming a little overgrown.
In real life the line actually closed, but as like elsewhere villages have grown. Had the line survived, a resurgence of traffic would have occurred. :)

Well I'm glad to see that that hound is not cocking his leg on them. (Nice touch btw.)

Just how one sees things in real life. :) See what you see and not what you think you see. Then try and replicate it in a scene.

I'd be a bit suspicious of that GPO Commer van it looks to be rather down on its suspension! Is someone trying to smuggle something out hidden behind the panelling? We had an olive green version of the same thing, officially it was a survey vehicle, but it was useless the way we did our surveys needed sliding doors. It required two planning officers and a yoof, one drove slowly, one spotted the surface materials and wrote them down along with the numbers shouted out by the yoof, who sat in the step of the open door holding the "wheel" and shouting out the numbers every time the surface changed. Our van was weighted down by the two measuring chains, which we had to use for the second pass when we used the chains to do an accurate measurement of the total length of each section. For any metric types a "chain" is twenty two yards, that's sixty six one foot long lnks, and by the time you'd dragged that a couple of miles you needed the van to collapse into.
Growing old, can't avoid it. Growing up, forget it!

Never been in a Commer van, Bufferstop. A good story though. Drove a few units around the yard though, before I became a Transport Manager. :)

The beauty of not having a terminus station like before, a train can be a lot longer. An oil train heading through Leeds Sovereign Street Station and north. Class 47 47423 Sceptre in charge.
