When one is taking photographs remember what the grandchildren have done. They helped in 'planting trees'.

Passenger services begin in earnest again. Kirkstall & East Seacroft Rlwy passenger train stops at Winterwood Manor Halt.

Thanks Berryman. Glad you like it.

The layout was originally built to run diesels only. I had a small number of old 0.4.0 locomotives that were never run. I thought 'how nice if I could have a small 'fun' layout with steam locos running. Sovereign Street Station and yard was built. After three rebuilds I am now happy with the layout. With the final rebuild, diesel train services have also improved.

Here are some photos of steam engines ---

Calder Railway loco 'Huxtable'. Calder Railway have another similar loco called 'Harwood'.

Three locos alike named 'Leefy', 'Raco' and 'Bezel'.

Calder Railway loco 'Allan Water' is a mix from two loco bodies into one. The coal bunker is above the firebox on the boiler.

The Leeds, Scarcroft & wetherby locomotive.

Other locomotives in a similar vein also run on the layout.

Kirkstall & East Seacroft Rlwy has two 'Terrier' locomotives: Thor & Titan. They also have two 0.6.0 locomotives and a 2.6.2 locomotive for use on the 'heavy loads' to the Munitions Factory at Barnbow.

My first little Hornby 0-4-0 was my second locomotive. A GWR 101 from when they first were made by Hornby. I had it pull ten bogie coaches at speed. However, stopping it with those ten coaches before it hit the buffers...

Are you not doing a Lybster Branch ?
Was it NG ?, nevermind, standard gauge with 0-4-0's acceptable.
