I'm using acrylics - Tamiya yellow and I'll probably mix the grey. Railmatch do the dutch colours in enamels and acrylics (warning panel yellow and flit grey) but I'm sick of the fumes you get with the enamels.
Hope this helps.

Started painting the Whale and Sealion but having trouble with the airbrush. I think the problem is that I'm thinning with water after running out of lifecolor acrylic thinner recently. Looking around it seems you can use isopropyl alcohol which is cheap enough off ebay. Once I have this hopefully things'll be back on track.

Apparently, cheap ebay alcohol isn't that pure - whether that's as big as a problem as some people think I don't know.

Hi all,
I've not had much time to focus on modelling recently, but have found time to progress with some of the kitbuilt wagons;

Cambrian Whale (the other end still needs sorting).

Cambrian Dogfish

Cambrian Turbot (two now ready for painting).

Parkside 21 tonner.

Hopefully these should get painted soon - then I can get back to rebuilding the layout
Cheers

Good to see you back on it, you appear to be very talented in the art of wagon building! Some beautifully made kits you have there
Have fun building the layout for them!
Cheers,
Sam

Thanks
I'm not sure when I'll be able to start on the layout exactly - the old one is pretty much a goner except for the boards and electrics.

Infrequent as ever, here's a few more pics of the ongoing kit builds;
Whales;

Turbot;

Chivers Lamprey;

Also recieved the 37003 limited edition which is a cracking model. It's really time to start thinking about a layout for it now
Cheers

What can be said other than superb?

I couldn't leave this thread without commenting, those are some brilliant modelling skills and you've encouraged me to buy a couple of wagon kits on the next payday and have a go myself.
