If you look at Metro’s profile you will see that he has not been here since February…

Re: Metrocamel's new Layout
Oh my... Looks like I've been gone too long. Sad to say in the mad dash to get my college work finished I've not gotten anything done
To answer a month and more old question I got the locos from hattone. I don't have any HEA's, but if you mean the MEA's? They're from Hattons too.
Sorry for my absence, I'll try and get something done

Re: Metrocamel's new Layout
Finally did get something done today!
Managed to wire up a working lamp I've had for years now and paint a bit mroe of my tarck. I also started on my RMC shunetr project converted from a Lima 00 guage American shunetr if anyone remembers. The idea is to replace the front grille with see through mesh, glaze the windows, improve the buffers and couplings and repaint in RMC orange! No paint stripping required as it's just blue plastic, but there were a few BR logos on.
So far I have the grille cut out and mesh (surplus from a Tamiya 1/35 Sdkfz 7 halftrack with AA platform) trail fitted. It's also been sprayed with primer.

The light, and some drastically brighter ones

Mesh trail fitetd ebfore and after the spraying. The RMC Orange livery doesn't actually exist on this loco and the image below (converted months back) is just speculation. I've decided the mesh will be left black to stand out against the orange.

More updates soon!

Nice, but how will you do the transfers?

Re: Metrocamel's new Layout
Apparently you can buy blank transfer paper, though I haven't looked yet and am just relying on what I've heard. If not I guess I'll have to make them out of fine photopaper.

Re: Metrocamel's new Layout
Have just got some more ballast down, picked a siting for the signalbox and started on making a place for it's interior lights. On the subject of lights, I've also taken some night shots of the Layout!

For tehr ecord, I do not ahve DCC and all the Locos are on the same controller at a standstill to simply show their headlights.

Re: Metrocamel's new Layout
Thanks Tim, much appreciated, and yes, I am still alive
A few more shots of what I got done recently.

Lighter than the last one.

New ballasting in the direction of the sidings showing the possible (and probable) location of the signalbox. unfortunately I ran out of the grey matter and had to use this olour. Anotehr job for the rut coloured paint!

the other direction, a bit neglected of late as I want to start on the tunnel at the sidings end.

Closeup of the signalbox. It's a Hornby Scaledale, and although I like kits and scratchbuilds this was my favourtie type of signalbox ready built for me!
