Well I'm off today so I'm going to do a little work on the station once I'm home alone. Had a little present to myself arrive the other day, it's my first venture into sound.

Got myself the royal observer corps, my grandad, mum, auntie and step dad all use to be members. Hattons certainly are cheap and quick at installing sound chips. My next upgrade will be on my bachman 9f evening star. Before that I be getting my turntabke so most of the track is laid and I can do more scenery.

Thanks! You know what, for £36 including a speaking you can't really go wrong with the hornby one (works with my select well enough until I invest in a power cab or the gaugemaster controller).

My fault just shock her head when I tested it out lol

The footbridge looks impressive. Are you going to paint it before you put the roof on or are you going to keep it the colour that it is?

Ballast around the platforms, I really need to find my static grass.

@mountain: yeah, I'll certainly be painting that along with the platforms, station, etc, when I can find my paints! might not be the world's best painter, but I do ok.

I was surprised gaugemaster make the old hornby kits

A painting suggestion for the bridge.
I always undercoat everything with cheap grey spray paint. This gives a good layer to paint over with your proper colours.
I've done it on plastic, card, wood and plaster.
Hope it helps
Thanks

Yeah I usually undercoat with black, I need to Google some pictures to figure out how to paint it and then dig out my weathering powders bits. I also need to repaint the tunnel entrances.

I picked up a few good wagons from Hattons (mainly Oxford rails), £55 with p&p 5 oxfard rails wagons and a bachman brake van. Not exactly from the correct period, but I've prefer this style of wagon.

Now I just have to wait until someone has some of the Ballast I need in stock so I can carry on with doing the Ballasting.

Well managed to find some of the gravel I wanted (only in the small bags), slowly working my way round the track. I've replaced the curved wiry flexi track, should improve running!

Adapted my smokey joe to use kadees, little more gravel down. Turntable and additional gravel on order. I know, it's slow progress, but it's slowly taking place.
