Thanks Mountain it's the 'programming' track. Thought rather than wasted space make use of it

Getting there but very slowly. Made some plastic buildings from Hornby which I have never come across before and bought some, will add pavements and street stuff slowly, but you get where I'm going with the scenic break

Thats looking sweet! I look foward to seeing more and more scenery added. The scenic break should work very well. Great job

Scratch built road bridge to give access to the centre of the layout is done. Built the DPD kit and had a change around of the buildings on the top level and apart from fencing I think I will leave as is, as Im happy with the look. As a new member of a model railway club, I hope soon to be getting hands on and learning about track ballasting and scenery, in the mean time, still playing trains :)

Looking good Peter, track ballasting will really help to pull the whole layout together. Looking forward to seeing more. Well done.

Hi thanks Dublo and yes the thing is that nothing apart from the track is fixed so all can be taken off from the base board for doing the ballasting but next to make the bases for the engine sheds.

Agree with MG, I'd never thought of it. Marvelous modern era workings. The motive power is nothing I've ever seen.

If I dare say, would love to see some video of that most interesting goods train banging through the cross over.
I don't care what they say. I believe in Nessie.

It's getting there isnt it!

will you be adding grime and weathering to this layout?? would set a nice tone to it all

one thing you might need to sort at a later date is the backdrop where you've got your new buildings on top in the corner as at the moment the scene doesnt quiet marry up to the road height up there

Hi m8ty
yes thats what Im hoping adding fencing will take the edge of it as at the moment its just the edge of the board butting straight up to the back scene, or maybe bushes or some other greenery to hide it away. For sure what looked worse was putting 'low relief' buildings on that back, don't look so bad at the side, thats where I added some more dept to the Scenecraft low relief warehouse

Hi Montfort
Support pillars are cut from a Gaugemaster foam tunnel mouth which I picked up 2nd hand and cheep, and the plate girder bridge sides are from Peco. Very simply cut a section out from the foam to take the bridge sides.
