Hello all.
Little Weldon is now celebrating is second birthday. To mark this I have stopped modelling at the moment, and started to run a few trains. Even some by "moonlight" with Little Weldons lights on. I tried to take a few piccies but not very successfully. I shall have to get my Camera out instead. I have some plans for the development of the layout. I shall be moving the unsuccessful smoke unit out of the Castles Watchtower and placing it in the Sand drier smoke rising up through the chimney of this building should look interesting. Install lighting in both the Goods and the Loco yards. For the Goods yard I have an Ancorton 3mm MDF Laser cut crane kit. I have also mocked up a short section of Brick walling to create the enclosed yard I originally thought of more modified Linka. I have been trying to find a suitable motor for the Airfix windmill something that will be nice and slow. I am also thinking that Little Weldon station will lose its Goods shed and acquire a Cattle Dock instead. All of that should keep me occupied for a while.

I love this 3 rail layout.
It takes me back nearly 60 years to my very first layout.

Hello all
Thanks for your kind words about Little Weldon, I am really enjoying building and running my layout. I'm pleased it takes you on a trip down memory lane Pete. The great things about these models is they just want to run.
One aspect that has come about during the construction of it has been my self imposed limit of keeping as much as possible to items that were available during the production of the range. My original aim was to create a layout in the style of those that were featured in the Meccano Magazine. Maybe its time to produce another set of Black and White photos to see how it looks.
Regarding the Coaling Stage and Ash Plant they are both from the Superquick range, although they are recent introductions, because of the Cardboard construction they fit in with the feel of the rest of the layout. I have tried to keep the level of modelling consistent to that of Meccano. My one failing in this has been with the discovery of Linka, but it has contributed to a more elaborate model than I was going to produce from Card and Stone papers.

Hello all
I havent posted any Black and White photos for a while so here are a few. I like to do this from time to time as it helps to see the layout in a different way.

Hello all
I haven't done much to Little Weldon over the last few weeks. I have however been running trains. Little Weldon has acquired a completely new train over the last week.

Lovely layout Dublo. I like the new additions. I know you are a stickler for running only items available as part of the range (a very interesting goal :D) but I'm wondering if you will weather those new items at all? That red is quite, err, bright . . . !

Hello all
Thanks very much for your kind words about Little Weldon, it is nice that other people like my efforts. As these two models are in such good condition complete with all their packaging. Any weathering is certainly a no no, so bright red is here to stay. When seen with some of the other items in the range they don't seem to out of place. I shall have to sacrifice a carriage siding for this train to sit in when not in use.
