The layout is not kept outside. I work on it outside because MDF dust is not good to breathe. As the layout is portable, I don't want it to fall apart if it gets rained on.
Checkrails. Yes. I thought they make a nice feature, as many narrow gauges have them and they do look the part. I did have to only solder the one side of the main running rail to leave room to solder on the checkrail if that makes sense?

Thanks Julie. I thought I would do a little more work on the layout.
It does not look like a lot has been done, but it has taken a couple of hours every other day...

That’s the lovely thing about this hobby or way of life, as I’m starting to view it :) ... It’s so nice to just lose yourself in it for a few hours, taking your time and really enjoying it. It’s the journey, as they say, not the destination ... So creative and easily the best part of the day that’s for sure :P! Always good to see your progress ... exciting!

Thanks Jules. I am using this layout as a testbed to try out ideas. It is fun. This little layout is ideal for testing.

Most intricate and interesting track work. Also, I am enjoying what appear to be
water courses in progress. I have taken up watching “Hinterlands.” The character
development is excruciating, and the plot contrived, but the Welsh land and sea scapes
are most engaging. Perhaps if all the characters fell down an abandoned well it
might be worth watching for just the scenery. I dwell in the Chihuahuan Desert.
Rain and gloom appear quite desirable from my vantage.
I don't care what they say. I believe in Nessie.
