I did have an idea, what about a coach or wagon that gets sent out - people who get it can then add to it as it goes around

Things like:
adding people
or lights
colouring in a section with favourite colour
simply signing their username to it
Adding transfers/markings

The end result will probably end up looking a right old mess but could be a bit of fun?

We could either leave it fairly open or figure out how many people are taking part and then split it into sections ?

Edit:
Or something based on location of that user - particularly if it ventures outside of the UK

May I suggest this coach? If acceptable I shall add NRM to the sides. I have taken the screw out so the roof just lifts off. Add passengers, graffiti etc.

That would need more packaging, but postage costs inthe U.K woukld still be
just under £3 small parcel 2nd class ? Much the same as anything other than
an odd animal which wouldn't be ideal for photographing on ones layout.

A few more suggestions before we roll on this glencairn.

How about a flat bogie wagon, each participant, has to add a crate with your layout name on?
Or a low loader and you put your own (interesting) load on each time for the photo shoot?

Or a loch ness monster or a similar little critter. He (Or she) can take rides or just have a selfie on someone's layout, and also is a bit easier across scales.
Enjoying 7mm narrow gauge.

some of it would depend on how many people are going to take part - if a wagon would be cheaper to send out and about but still has enough room for everyone it should work out - but i had assumed a coach to give enough room for everyone to do something interesting.

Another thought would be something like the container from this wagon: https://www.hattons.co.uk/233726/Dapol_B530_U_Conflat_wagon_SR_with_furniture_container_Southern_Railway_Pre_owned_imperfect/StockDetail.aspx

someone could then do it up in NRM colours

It would depend when it all started as to whether I would be involved. The last two weeks in November I am away.

What about a train spotter?

Can then either use just a figure or also add in a car?

Do it in 00 and then people using N or other scales can use relative positioning to include it on their layouts as well?

Eg figure close to camera with trains in background? & in reverse for larger scales
