Merchant Navy Class 35020 - Bibby Line - fitted with a high sided tender c.1956. The loco ran with this style of tender during the "trials" - I have a picture :) The tender lining is the wrong colour.

Very nice stuff. Do the Belisha Beacons flash? Some very interesting details.

A rare visitor to Wykeham :o First time out of its box since 2014. Only four carriages, as five to long for the platform. Click on picture for short video.

I love all the cameos you've got on the layout, especially the guys painting the canopies.
I always think that these little touches make layouts more interesting.
They are so simple and easy to add and it's a pity more modellers don't do it.

Great scenic work! Your flashing Belisha Beacons might be rather new, the first ones were converted to flash in 1952. Until then they had simply been orange balls on the top of the poles. the zebra stripes had been added in the late forties.

Thanks for the comments Pete and Bufferstop. It only takes a minute when, for example, when you have some people to add to the layout, you have them doing something - I have a guy up a ladder washing windows - the couple just stepping onto the zebra crossing could have been placed anywhere, but it just adds that bit of realism.
I've just blown the LED's under the main station canopy - so a fiddly repair job required - I think when moving some wiring, I connected them to a 12v supply - even with a resistor they popped - stupid boy  Barry

PS: Layout era is about mid-fifties until the end of steam.

So your zebra crossing has only recently been installed/upgraded. On of those useful little snippets for embellishing your back story when you get visitors.

Another new arrival at Wykeham. Not really me era, so it's now back in its box.
