I love this!! I think small layouts take a lot more planning and skill than a large one. You've made a good start and you have some nice woodwork going on.

looking forward to seeing it develop

Thanks
Dan

The final push before the scenic work starts.

A audio jackplug socket added to one corner to plug my controller into:

The scene dividers complete with some small strengthening wings glued into position:

G'day Gents

I can see it now, a P2 with 10 on, pounding through the snow, passing a couple of WD's with a snow plough. Oppp's, wrong thread. Sorry, interesting concept. :D

So, what else is kicking around on the floor of the shed:

More small bits of ply that can be used as formers, some scrap small cardboard boxes left over from Christmas presents, and a pile of paper towels in the corner (paper towels are not so widely available these days, but when I see them I always stick a slack handfull in my pocket).

Can you see what it is going to be yet :?:

The paper towels have been brushed before applying with a weak mixture of wood glue and water. Once dried it will be hard but still very light. A bit of paint and grass and it will look the part.

What can Dave's imagination dream up ??

Funny that you should say that Geoff

A few polystyrene chips from packing and some general purpose filler with wood glue mixed in has been slapped on to make the foundations for some rocks. Ideally I will carve it up a bit just before it fully hardens.

Adding a bit of colour, and some elevation to the front of the track:
