I hope all my friends on the forum are well during these challenging Covid times.
Well it's been a while now since Millsend was dismantled, but I recently found some images of Millsend, early
in it's construction and some similar images of the same areas before it was dismantled, which make for
an interesting comparison, I think.

Hi railwayjim, Hope you're keeping well and occupied during these dark times.

Millsend was always one of my favourites.
Everything matched in so well, certainly one of THE classics of NRM.

Sad, but things and people change, probably better to have it dismantled than sit decaying
and unused.
All I can add is if any reader want some inspiration just read through this build.

I had to admit I immediately clicked onto his topic when I saw Millsend - one of my favourites too, on NRM - I always thought the weathering and atmosphere was superb. Glad to hear you are doing well RailwayJim and it looks like you have a great collection!

Great stuff. Got one CV shot in my arm, the agency bolloxed my date for the second shot. Hope one is enough to get me by.
In the meantime, will amuse myself studying these excellent photo-real images.

PS: if you can come over and rearrange my train room, you are more than welcome.

Hi Jim,
It is great to see some photo's. It is definitely a lesson in how well you can realistically build a model railway into a given space. The loco yard a prime example.

So what do you do with your Dublo museum you have constructed? Sit in there and relax?

I have been reading about a colleague in the USA dismantling a 'great layout'. Now Millsend going the same way. I hope this is not a trend..

I love your footbridge. We have one something like it at Burry Port. Your collection looks more like a scene from a model railway shop! I like both Hornby Dublo and Wrenn as they made them so robust and heavy. One can hear the locos heaviness as they come down the track.
Ok, the later plastic bodied ones were not quite the weight but even then they were well made and heavy. I have a Wrenn class 08. It is lovely.

You should pop in more often Jim - preferably with previously unseen photos. I really miss those lumps of coal in the yard.

I do have quite a few shots of the layout developing early on, which have not be
