sorry for the lack of posts and involvement over the past few months. We've decided to move our loft layout to the bottom of the garden. Photos will follow shortly but in essence we now have a main layout of 30' x 8' with 2 lower tracks and 1 upper circuit. We then have a 24' x 2' spur at 90 degrees to the main layout which takes the top track through a large tunnel past a small town and then looping round on itself to join back with the main room.
During the move we have also gone DCC using a power cab setup which I have to say is simplicity itself. I was a bit dubious at first but the ease of operation is brilliant. We are currently using the top track as DC so that my son can still 'play' with his stuff but I have invested in some new locos with sound and fitted decoders to some of the other locos.
If anyone out there is also building on an american theme get in touch. I know this site is populated in the main with british layouts so i thought we'd bring something different to the table.
I'll upload some pics as we get them and get involved more with the site now that I am more enthused !
