Hi mate

Glad to hear that you are back in business. I am especially pleased to see that splendid viaduct survived intact ;)

Cheers fella

I've got it all but I also need to use it as an office and ideally want to keep access to the doors.

Why do you have a plan?

Funny you say that, it went down like a lead balloon when after just moving house I went away for a week on a tour raound the UK doing firework displays...

Anyone living north of Ipswich, just to let you know there will be 2.5k of fireworks going up on Saturday night for someones wedding. 8)

Mate, just caught up with your layout and its looking awesome! On the plans for my own layout I was planning something really similar to what you've got with the viaduct and tunnel. That is inspirational! Keep it up!

Weekend before bonfirenight is always good at my house!

I live about 20 mins from Leeds but ironically only done 1 display in Leeds ever. This weekend is the last job of the year for me :( ... Until 00:00:01 new years day

I've got the small matter of a fireplace to box in tonight and then I should be back on track with the railway. So some pictures to follow soon.

Happy Christmas!

Postby mark_brody » Fri Dec 28, 2007 11:45 pm

Hope everyone has got what they wanted for Christmas. I've personally been given quite a bit of woodlandscenics stuff and a scaledale bridge you will see shortly.

Well, I've managed to get a bit done since the last update. I've completed the lounge (inc laminate floor), finished the bathroom and also fixed a leaky garage roof as for the layout see below...

First modelling task was to recreate apollo 14 in the gargage:

It was getting a bit cold in there!

Then on with the modelling:

The layout has changed quite a bit from the original plan, so will post a new track plan when I have one!

On another note, the (only) track I have kept spanning 2 baseboards would not re-align following the move and so I have had to re-lay it, see below:

Image

I'm sure I read somewhere that someone who knew they were going to be moving their layout from time to time had once simpy cut a baseboard in half using a razor saw and then rejoined it later. This is what I attempted to do here but it didn't work and the cutting of the track (the boards were already seperate) must have moved them.

Anyway, based on the previous experience this layout is now going to be a permanent one without any 'removable' baseboards.

Happy New Year! :D

Glad to see you're back on track with the modeling. That's a nice long run in your pictures - and I look forward to your new track plan.

I said I'd do this and then never did. A PM from Leon has kicked me into action:

Here is a slide show of the layout coming out of the loft bit by bit.
