Some more rocks added to the cliff face:

And extending around the bend:

This is splendid stuff PNP. Well done. It's very reminiscent of the rock face at the site of the old Symonds Yat station near me. Perhaps given your painting prowess with your N gauge cat you could have a go at a falcon's nest.

Thanks ParkeNd, very surprised to see there is a 'real' rock face that looks a bit like mine :o.

P.S. This thread just passed the 30,000 views overnight, so many thanks to all of you out there for your ongoing support, much appreciated 8).

The cliff face has now been extended along the 'back straight' to where the lower level will enter a tunnel:

Also, the farmer has let a flock of sheep into the field where the trainspotter and his wife are waiting for the next train to pass:

The rock face looks great PNP. I particularly like the small scattering of rock on the outer corner. It suggests the navvies had their work cut out to break through the stuff on that bend. Brilliant stuff as normal.

Just seen this. Wonderful stuff as always - and sheep in a Forest of Dean type location on the roadside.

4th January beckons with folk like Alex writing about going back to work. Guessing this might be when you start your new job so if it is then I wish you good fortune in your new company.

Your rock face looks incredibly realistic, can I ask what colour paint you used to achieve this, and how did you make them or were they ready made? Layout is coming on beautifully.

On my layout I'm trying to make everything myself, platforms, walls, bridges, viaducts etc but yours look more realistic and detailed than mine. Are these kit or scratch built? Either way they look the business, but I'm just wondering that maybe I should use the odd ready made detailing to improve overall effect.

Again, layouts looking superb. :D :D

I do like the contrast between this area round the back and the urban theme round the front. You certainly have managed to fit a lot of layout in a relatively small space, without it looking over stuffed :) Well done.

Thx Marcus, I was a bit lazy with the rock face - it is Woodland Scenics 'Ready Rocks' :D
My buildings are Metcalfe - some made as intended, others modified to suit the site or requirement. Bridges, tunnel mouths etc are downloaded kits that you print off yourself.

P.S. Have you posted off the N gauge Tour wagons yet?

That is one heck of a transformation, it works really well. Just a shame you wont see it that often ;)

Very nice. You can have a photo session in town or out in the sticks.
