First attempt

Postby bristolmidland » Thu Oct 11, 2012 4:03 pm

Hi all,

A couple of photos of my Bachmann 4 road coming on. This is the first time I have ever attempted anything like this and I am very pleased with being able to fit the Peco inspection pits in place and use grey board to make up the floor. I know that compared to some I have seen on this forum my efforts pale into insignificance but I am very pleased. Onwards and upwards. The floor still has to be fixed and painted and a few adjustments made and paint the inspection pits and ballast with, I hope a mixture of cinder ballast and a bit of ash from the fire for effect. I am also hoping to fit lights to the shed and very dim ones for the inside the shed.

PS I nearly sold my 4 road shed as I thought it was too big for my layout. A bit of lateral thinking and there it is.

regards Steve

Hi all,

After finally finishing laying all the track, pics to come, I decided to tidy the wiring up. Big mistake as I now have a great big short! I think I will have to go back to the old untidy version which had separate power sections and not a long bus going from the centre to each extremity. I have checked the track and there are no conflicts so it must be in the droppers. Mind you it is a steep learning curve.

regards Steve
